BloomNo. 1
Hummingbird
Bright and crispquarter note= 100
Named for the Anna's hummingbird that lives in the garden. The riff sits high in the right hand, hovering on a few notes and then darting away, while the left hand loops three rising chords underneath, so the same figure keeps changing colour.
The riff is heard alone first, then over a groove. A second melody holds one note over sliding sevenths, the hands interlock, and the riff returns in full before a break of stop-time hits and a short coda.
